Their adidas Sustainability Roadmap follows the entire life cycle of sport, identifying areas of responsibility for where adidas is made, sold and used by consumers. This includes sustainability targets around water savings, waste reduction and energy savings.

Agatha Ruiz de la Prada

The Agatha Ruíz de la Prada range of girls’ footwear is a fun, quirky and colourful selection of sandals, shoes and boots from Spanish designer Agatha Ruíz de la Prada. Footwear company Garvalín has been manufacturing the Agatha Ruíz de la Prada range since 2001.

Future Feet imports the Agatha Ruíz range directly from Garvalín, Spain in twice yearly shipments. Sizing for our selection of Agatha Ruíz de la Prada starts at a size 20 EU for infant girls through to a size 34 EU for older tweens.

ASICS was formed in 1949 in Japanese by Kihachiro Onitsuka with a goal to make athletic sports shoes to help develop healthy young people through sports. The company’s first sport shoe, released in 1950, was a basketball shoe. ASICS is now considered to be the world’s leading high performance footwear manufacturer with footwear ranges for a wide variety of sports.

ASICS aims to make the best products and services in the sports footwear industry, and to develop products in a way that considers their environmental impact at each stage of their life cycle. Their commitment to sustainability includes such initiatives as switching to more sustainable materials and reducing water usage in the dyeing process.

The ASICS kids’ footwear range has numerous features which offer young athletes support, durability and protection. The firm heel counter prevents unwanted movement and supports the foot and ankle while the cushioned midsole provides additional support and protection through absorbing shock and softening repetitive forces that occur during sports activities. To ensure durability, ASICS kids’ shoes feature a solid rubber outsole and stitched toe bumpers to maximise the life of the product. Biomecanics

Biomecanics

Motivated by its interest in innovation and its desire to manufacture the most appropriate products for children’s growing feet, Spanish footwear company Garvalín developed the Biomecanics range. The range was created in conjunction with Spanish research facility, the Institute of Biomechanics of Valencia, and studied thousands of children at different ages in order to develop the most suitable, comfortable and ergonomic footwear for their needs.

We stock Biomecanics shoes and sandals from infant sizes up to a size 41 EU for college and high school students. Our range of Biomecanics school shoes feature flexible, hardwearing soles, stable heel counters and breathable leather uppers. With removable antibacterial inner soles, the Biomecanics school range is suitable for use with orthotics.

Birkenstock

Birkenstock

German footwear company Birkenstock can trace its origins back to 1774, and is well-known for its distinctive cork footbed sandals. Birkenstock is committed to environmentally friendly operations and constantly works to improve its production processes, products, packaging and logistics to have less impact on the environment.

A high proportion of the natural materials Birkenstock uses are from sustainable sources. One of Birkenstock’s most important raw materials is cork, a natural and sustainable product obtained from the bark layer of the cork oak. The cork layer regrows on the tree and can be harvested several times over the tree’s lifetime. Birkenstock also uses natural latex as a binding agent in its footbeds. Natural latex is a renewable resource obtained from the resin of rubber trees.

Future Feet offers a range of children’s and adult’s Birkenstock sandals, in sizes from kids’ 28 EU through to adults’ 43 EU. Many of our styles contain Birkenstock’s Birko-Flor upper, which is a high quality synthetic material that is gentle on skin, tear-proof and easy to care for.

Bobux is one of our favourite brands at Future Feet! We stock a great selection of the latest Bobux styles from Soft Soles through to size 33 EU in the Kid+ range. Bobux is a New Zealand family-owned business and offers an extensive range of footwear for children from prewalkers through to primary school age. Bobux focuses on designing fashionable, hardwearing shoes, boots and sandals which support healthy foot growth for children at all stages of development.

Clarks was founded by brothers Cyrus and James Clark in 1825 in Somerset, England and has grown to be one of the world’s most well-known footwear manufacturers. Future Feet has been a stockist of Clarks’ children’s range for over 25 years, and has an extensive range of Clarks’ school and college shoes. Our Clarks school shoes start from a size 8 UK Infants up to a size 10 UK Mens and are available in half sizes. For a number of Clarks school styles including Camden, Daytona, and Infinity, we offer multiple width sizes to suit narrower or wider feet.

Columbine has been manufacturing socks and hosiery since 1951. Over 95% of all products manufactured by Columbine are produced in its Gisborne factory. Future Feet is proud to promote "Buy New Zealand Made” with Columbine’s range of cotton and merino wool-blend Columbine children’s socks and stockings.

Columbine believes heavily in sustainability and focuses on its use of raw materials, labour and its manufacturing process. Columbine’s merino wool, cotton, yarn and cardboard are sourced from sustainably-certified suppliers, and the company ensures all labour used throughout the manufacturing process complies with ethical employment practices. Columbine continually strives to reduce its consumption of resources such as water and electricity used in the manufacturing process.

EMU Australia produces a range of children’s boots and slippers that are warm, comfortable and fun to wear! Future Feet stocks EMU Australia’s Walker slipper boots for toddlers, Little Creatures animal-themed slipper boots for kids and Wallaby slippers boots for kids and teens up to a 6 US Youth.

The EMU Brumby range of footwear, available from a size 8 US Infants, is made with a waterproof suede outer and is perfect for keeping feet warm and dry at home or out in nature. Garvalín footwear is imported by Future Feet directly from Spain along with its sister brands Agatha Ruiz de la Prada and Biomecanics.

Made in Brazil since 1962, Havaianas are crafted from premium natural Brazilian rubber and express Brazil’s fun, vibrant and spontaneous way of life. The name Havaianas is Portuguese for Hawaiians. Havaianas are the most popular brand of jandals (aka flip flops) in the world with over 200 million pairs sold every year!

At Future Feet, we stock Havaianas from kids sizes 23/24 up to adults 43/44. Please note that Havaianas are in Brazilian sizing which differs from European sizing. Richter is a European children’s footwear company that traces its roots back to its original shoemakers’ workshop in Austria in 1893. Over the past century and a quarter, the business has continued to grow and develop as a specialised children’s footwear manufacturer, and now exports to over 25 countries including New Zealand. The development team at Richter work closely with orthopedic specialists to ensure the ongoing suitability of their footwear designs for children’s developing feet.

Richter ensures its production operations are environmentally-friendly and sustainable. It uses only non-toxic nature-based materials in its shoe production, and ensures all its production is carried out under fair working conditions and wages.

Many of our Richter styles in store have a removable insole, which allow quick and easy sizing and allow them to be suitable for wearing with orthotic insoles.

Salt Water Sandals

Walter Hoy first started making his classics sandals in 1944 using leftover scrap leather from military boots during World War II. Seventy years on, the classic Salt Water sandal continues to maintain its popularity with its durable, comfortable leather and stylish design on their tough stitched rubber sole.

The leather is coated with a water-resistant sealant and the sandals mould to the wearer’s feet with repeated use. With its rust-proof metal buckles, the Salt Water Sandal range is designed to be worn in and around water, and can be handwashed if needed with a gentle detergent.

Salt Water Sandals should fit snugly across your feet on first wear and will adjust to the shape of your foot with ongoing use. If you find rubbing or tightness with your sandals when new, stand in cool water with your sandals on for a few minutes then allow your sandals to naturally dry while you’re wearing them – this will help them to mould to the shape of your foot.

Skechers is a well-known American footwear brand, first created in California in 1992. It’s now the third largest athletic footwear brand in the United States.

Future Feet stocks a full range of Skechers for infants and childrens, including the ever-popular light-up shoes. Although batteries in Skechers’ light-up shoes are not able to be changed, Skechers states that the batteries should last for as long as it takes for your child to outgrow the particular shoe size.

Larger adult sizes are also available in selected men’s and women’s Skechers styles.

Skellerup has been supplying New Zealand with high quality, genuine gumboots for over 70 years. Designed for jumping in puddles or mucking around in mud and the like, the Skellerup gumboot is a rainboot developed for Kiwi kids. Future Feet is a proud retailer for this classic New Zealand product, and stocks infants and children’s boots, including the iconic Red Band boot, up to a Youth size 3 UK.

Smartwool

At Future Feet, we stock a range of Smartwool hiking and snowsports socks from kids to adult sizing. All the Smartwool range of socks is developed with odour-limiting Merino wool. How does it work? Odour-causing bacteria is absorbed by the Merino wool fibres, keeping the bacteria from growing. This helps keeps the socks a whole lot less smelly! When it is time to wash the socks, turn them inside out and machine-wash in cool or warm (but not hot) water with a mild detergent. Air dry or tumble dry on a low heat.

The Sun-San range of sandals is a sister brand to the ever popular Salt Water Sandals, which have been around for over seventy years. Sun-San Sandals feature the same durable, comfortable leather uppers and rust-proof metal buckles as Salt Water Sandals, but are characterised by their bouncy urethane-bonded base.

The original Teva sport sandal was created on the river banks of the Grand Canyon back in 1984 by a river guide, needing to prevent his sandals from floating off down the river. Two Velcro watchbands attached to a pair of flip-flops, and tah-dah!, the birth of Teva sandals.

Teva believes in good business that positively shapes communities, protects the environment and inspires future generations. The company takes a sustainable focus on its business practices, by looking at its use of materials, waste generation and energy and water consumption.

Future Feet stocks Teva boots and sandals from infants through to youth sizes. Many of the Teva styles are vegan, including the popular Tirra and Tanza sandals and youth Manatee.

To clean your sandals, Teva recommends handwashing using an antimicrobial soap and warm water.

Timberland

The iconic Timberland waterproof boot was first launched in 1976, originally designed as a tough, waterproof work boot. Over time, the boot repositioned itself as a classic must-have fashion item, but still retain its rugged, durable features.

Future Feet stocks the classic 6” Timberland boot in yellow nubuck and black nubuck, in sizes from 13 US Child through to 7 US Youth. The waterproof seam-sealed construction of the leather upper is guaranteed to keep feet dry in any weather.

Vans is an American footwear manufacturer and is named after its founder Paul Van Doren. Back in 1966, the first Vans shoe shop was opened in California under the name The Van Doren Rubber Company. One of the original styles sold back in 1966 is still sold today as the Vans "Authentic” style.

Future Feet stocks a variety of Vans core and seasonal styles for children from infants through to young adults, including Vans Old Skool styles, Vans slip ons and other popular styles. We also stock a range of black Vans which are a great school option for primary and high school kids who need to wear shoes with black uppers and soles as part of their school uniform.
